Hello, my name is Henrik Bæk Jørgensen and I'm Senior Product Manager for the 2 MW platform here at Vestas. Our strive for excellence and continuous improvement is relentless. That's why we introduced the V100-1.8 MW in 2009, specifically designed for low-cost energy production at low-wind onshore sites. Bringing together the very best design and technology of the 2 MW platform that has been tested in more than 7,800 turbines around the world. The 49 m blades make it possible to effectively harvest low winds and provide a good business case for sites with an average wind speed down to 6 m/s. The blades were developed in 2006 and have been in smooth operation since. The V100-1.8 MW is available with different Noise Modes, reducing the maximum sound power emission as well as noise at low wind speeds.
